Eaton B072-008-1-IP – 8-Port Cat5 IP KVM Switch
Overview
The Eaton B072-008-1-IP is an 8-port Cat5 IP KVM switch designed for centralized control of multiple servers from a single local console or remote network location. It combines analog VGA/USB server access with IP-based remote management for enterprise and data center infrastructure control.
This 1U rack-mounted system supports up to 8 servers using external Server Interface Units (SIUs) over Cat5e/6 cabling, enabling server placement up to ~100 ft from the switch. It supports Full HD video resolution up to 1920 × 1080 and provides both local and remote user access for simultaneous administration sessions.
The unit includes dual Ethernet ports for network redundancy, ensuring continuous remote access if a primary link fails. It also supports advanced infrastructure integration features such as SNMP event logging, LDAP/RADIUS authentication, serial device control, and optional IP PDU power control per server port assignment.
Typical deployments include data centers, network operation centers (NOCs), server rooms, and edge IT environments where centralized multi-server access is required without physically visiting each rack. It is not intended for high-bandwidth video production or non-KVM switching applications.
