Overview
The Eaton EVMIGU23X-E is a 0U vertical metered rack PDU designed for high-density IT environments requiring flexible input compatibility and detailed power monitoring. It is deployed by data center engineers and infrastructure teams to distribute AC power across rack-mounted servers, storage, and network equipment while maintaining visibility into load conditions and energy consumption.
This unit supports universal input configurations, allowing operation across 100–240 V single-phase and up to ~415 V three-phase systems, with capacity scaling depending on the selected input cord (approximately 5 kW to 23 kW range). Built-in metering provides real-time measurement of voltage, current, power, and energy, enabling capacity planning and proactive load balancing.
The PDU mounts in a 0U vertical orientation alongside rack rails, preserving rack space for compute equipment. It is designed for 42U rack deployments, with a slim profile that supports installation in high-density cabinets without interfering with airflow or cable routing.
Connectivity includes an embedded Gigabit network interface, supporting remote monitoring via SNMP, web interface, CLI, and API integrations. This enables centralized power monitoring and alerting across distributed racks without requiring physical access.
A practical deployment involves use in multi-region or mixed-voltage data centers, where a single PDU model can adapt to different electrical standards by selecting the appropriate input cable. This reduces SKU complexity and simplifies global infrastructure rollouts.
This unit should not be used in environments requiring outlet-level switching control, as it is a metered (monitoring) PDU, not a switched PDU. It also requires proper upstream power provisioning and does not provide power conditioning or battery backup.
