The Eaton MBP11K208G2 (9PX Generation 2 Series) is an 11kVA high-voltage maintenance bypass module designed for enterprise-grade infrastructure. Data center facility engineers, network administrators, and power procurement teams deploy this hardware alongside 8kVA and 11kVA 9PX Gen 2 uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to guarantee high-availability service paths.
The module resolves the critical problem of scheduling network downtime during routine power system servicing. It features a mechanical wrap-around bypass switch that routes utility grid AC power directly to the connected IT load, safely isolating the main UPS unit. This mechanical separation allows technicians to perform full chassis replacements, hot-swappable battery servicing, or firmware updates without dropping active server racks.
Designed for adaptable installation, the unit occupies a 3U form factor when mounted horizontally in standard 19-inch 4-post hardware enclosures, but can also be rear-mounted directly onto the 9PX UPS chassis to conserve precious vertical rack resources. Input and primary distribution channels utilize hardwired terminal block connections to ensure safe high-amperage operation. Never attempt to slide the mechanical toggle into bypass mode while the UPS is operating on battery inverter power, as mismatched phase timing will cause severe electrical arcing.
