The Eaton MBP6K208G2 (9PX Generation 2 Series) is a 6kVA high-voltage maintenance bypass module built for distributed enterprise networks. Facility engineers, data center operators, and power procurement teams combine this hardware with 5kVA and 6kVA 9PX Gen 2 uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to configure zero-downtime power protection systems.
The module resolves the issue of operational disruptions during routine system repairs or asset lifecycles. It utilizes a mechanical wrap-around bypass switch that routes raw utility AC power straight to active network gear, isolating the main UPS unit entirely. This isolation permits engineers to execute full battery array replacements, structural maintenance, or main power engine swaps without cutting power to downstream live computing nodes.
Occupying 3U of horizontal space when mounted inside standard 19-inch 4-post hardware racks, this unit can also be bolted directly to the rear of the 9PX UPS frame to preserve critical front rack resources. The primary distribution paths rely on robust terminal block hardwired routes alongside integrated NEMA outlets. Never engage this mechanical bypass dial if the connected UPS is warning of an un-synchronized input phase error, as timing variance will trigger high-current circuit damage.
