Overview

The Tripp Lite PDUH30HV is a rack-mounted basic Power Distribution Unit (PDU) designed to deliver high-voltage AC power to rack-based IT equipment. It is deployed by data center and network engineers to distribute 208–240V power from a single high-capacity input source to multiple downstream devices without introducing switching or management layers.

This unit operates on a single-phase 200–240V input with a 30A circuit rating (24A continuous load), delivering up to 5.8 kW of power capacity. It uses a NEMA L6-30P locking input connector and distributes power across ten IEC C13 outlets, supporting typical server and networking equipment. The design includes dual 20A circuit breakers to provide branch-level overload protection.

The PDUH30HV is typically installed in 19-inch racks within data centers, server rooms, and high-density IDF/MDF environments where 208–240V power is standard. Its 1U horizontal form factor allows efficient deployment in space-constrained racks, while the reversible chassis also supports alternative mounting such as vertical (0U), wall, or under-bench installations.

It integrates into existing power infrastructure via a locking L6-30P connection, commonly fed from a UPS system, generator, or facility power distribution panel. The use of IEC C13 outlets aligns with standard enterprise server power supplies, making it suitable for homogeneous rack environments using C14 inlet equipment.

In a practical deployment, the PDU is used downstream of a 208V UPS to distribute power to a rack of single-corded servers and switches. The absence of switching or metering reduces failure points while maintaining consistent power delivery across all connected loads.

This unit is not suitable for environments requiring remote monitoring, outlet-level control, or load metering. It should also not be used in 120V ecosystems or where mixed outlet types (e.g., C19) are required without adapters.
