Eaton PDUMVR30HVNETLX Switched Rack PDU 30A 208/230V
Overview :
The Eaton PDUMVR30HVNETLX is a 0U vertical switched rack power distribution unit (PDU) designed for delivering and managing power to high-density IT equipment in rack environments. It is deployed by data center engineers and network administrators requiring remote outlet-level control and monitoring for critical infrastructure. The unit enables centralized power management, reducing the need for manual intervention during device failures or maintenance operations.
This PDU operates on a single-phase 208/230V input with a 30A circuit (24A continuous load) and delivers up to 5.5–5.8 kW of output capacity depending on input voltage. It provides 24 total outlets, including 20 IEC C13 and 4 IEC C19 receptacles, supporting mixed IT loads such as servers, switches, and storage systems. Each outlet is individually switchable, allowing remote power cycling, load shedding, and device-level control via network interface.
The unit is designed for vertical 0U mounting, installing along the rear of standard 19-inch racks without consuming rack space. This makes it suitable for high-density deployments in data centers, colocation environments, and enterprise MDF installations. It supports structured power distribution within A/B feed architectures and integrates into rack-level redundancy strategies.
Integration is enabled through the built-in LX platform network interface, supporting protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, SNMPv1/v2/v3, SSH, and DHCP for remote monitoring and control. The PDU can be managed through Eaton’s PowerAlert platform and supports optional environmental monitoring modules for temperature and humidity tracking. This allows integration into centralized DCIM or network management systems.
In a practical deployment, the PDUMVR30HVNETLX is installed in a data center rack supplying power to compute nodes and network switches. Administrators can remotely reboot unresponsive devices, sequence power during maintenance windows, and monitor per-outlet load to prevent circuit overload conditions. This is critical in unmanned or remote facilities where physical access is limited.
This PDU is not suitable for environments requiring three-phase power distribution or loads exceeding 30A input capacity. It is also not intended for basic power distribution use cases where remote switching and monitoring are not required, as a metered or basic PDU would be more appropriate.
