Tripp Lite SR48UB – 48U Standard Rack Enclosure Cabinet
Overview
The Tripp Lite SR48UB is a 48U freestanding rack enclosure designed for housing servers, networking equipment, UPS systems, and PDUs in structured IT environments. It is deployed by data center engineers, infrastructure teams, and network architects to consolidate rack-mounted equipment into a secure, standardized enclosure while supporting airflow, cable management, and high load capacity.
This cabinet provides 48U of 19-inch EIA-standard mounting space with four adjustable vertical mounting rails using square-hole mounting for standard cage nuts. The enclosure supports up to ~3000–3500 lb (1360–1588 kg) static load and ~2250 lb (1020 kg) rolling load, allowing deployment of dense server, storage, and power equipment without structural limitations.
The rack is built with a standard 24″ width and ~43″ depth, supporting typical enterprise server chassis while maintaining compatibility with data center layouts. It includes locking, removable, and reversible front and rear doors, along with locking side panels keyed alike, enabling secure access control and simplified servicing.
Cooling and airflow are addressed through high-perforation doors (65%+ open space), enabling front-to-rear airflow aligned with server cooling requirements and hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment strategies. Integrated baying tabs allow multiple enclosures to be joined in rows for scalable rack deployments.
A practical deployment includes enterprise server rows in a data center or network core environment where full-height racks are required for mixed equipment (servers, switches, PDUs). The enclosure ships fully assembled with preinstalled casters and leveling feet, enabling rapid installation.
This cabinet should not be used in seismic-rated environments or specialized containment systems without additional accessories, as it is designed for general-purpose rack deployments rather than engineered seismic or micro-environment enclosures.
