The HP JL160A is a 1‑Gigabit small‑form‑pluggable (SFP) copper transceiver designed for network engineers deploying Gigabit Ethernet links over UTP copper cable. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbps auto‑negotiation and uses a standard RJ‑45 interface, allowing insertion into SFP slots while using CAT5e/CAT6 cabling up to 100 m. The module is suited for access layer switches, uplinks and data‑centres where fibre is not required or legacy copper cabling is available. It fits into SFP cages on compatible HP/Aruba and other vendor switches and is hot‑pluggable, enabling field replacements with minimal disruption.
