Overview :
The HPE JD494A is a hot-pluggable SFP (mini-GBIC) optical transceiver designed for network engineers deploying 1 Gigabit Ethernet links over fiber. It supports the IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-LX standard and is suited for single-mode fiber links up to 10 km. In typical network architectures this module is used in data center, campus aggregation or branch uplinks where long-reach fiber connectivity is required. It installs into SFP ports on switches, routers or servers and interoperates with LC-duplex connectors and a 3.3 V supply rail. The JD494A enables fibre link extension without moving to 10 Gb/s optics when 1 Gb/s remains sufficient, and integrates with standard SFP-M^2 multi-source agreement platforms.
