HPE R8V12A Aruba 6200M 48-Port L3 PoE TAA Switch
Overview
The HPE R8V12A is a TAA-compliant, stackable Layer 3 access switch from the Aruba CX 6200M series, purpose-built for demanding enterprise branch and campus networks. This model is engineered to provide a robust, scalable, and high-power access layer for environments requiring secure and reliable connectivity. It specifically addresses the need for a high-density switching solution that can power a new generation of IoT devices and access points while meeting strict federal procurement standards. This switch features a powerful combination of 36 Gigabit and 12 multi-gigabit (1/2.5/5G) Ethernet ports, all equipped with high-power Class 6 Power over Ethernet (PoE). This enables the delivery of up to 60W of power per port, making it ideal for deploying advanced devices such as pan-tilt-zoom security cameras, modern Wi-Fi 6/7 access points, and smart building sensors. Four integrated 10G SFP+ uplink ports ensure that there is ample bandwidth back to the distribution layer, preventing network bottlenecks. Designed for operational simplicity and high availability, the R8V12A fits a standard 1U rack space and functions at the network access layer. It supports Aruba’s Virtual Switching Framework (VSF), allowing up to eight switches to be stacked and managed as a single logical entity. This simplifies configuration and enhances network resiliency. The entire platform runs on the modern AOS-CX network operating system, which provides advanced security, programmability, and automation features that can be centrally managed via Aruba Central.
