The HPE R9D18‑61001, also known as R9D18A, is a single-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet SR SFP+ Transceiver for Aruba Instant On switches Designed for short-range fiber connections, it supports link distances up to 300 meters over OM3 multimode fiber and approximately 400 m over OM4. Utilizing a duplex LC interface and a 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, it offers high-performance, low-latency connectivity for uplinks, switch interlinks, or server-to-switch links in SMB or data center environments.

This compact SFP+ module adheres to IEEE 10GBase-SR standards and supports 1.25–10.31 Gbps data rates. It integrates into Instant On switch SFP+ ports (up to four on models like the 1930 series) and operates hot-swappable without disrupting the system. Equipped with Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM/DOM), it provides real-time information on optical power, temperature, and voltage. Its small form factor (0.5 × 0.6 × 2.2 in) and lightweight design (~20 g) enable easy deployment in compact switch layouts.
