Overview :

The INTELLINET 508827 is an industrial 8-port gigabit Ethernet unmanaged switch featuring 2 SFP fiber slots, designed for harsh environments and demanding IoT applications. It is utilized by network deployment engineers and industrial automation technicians to establish reliable local connectivity in unconditioned, extreme spaces. The unit solves the core challenge of maintaining stable, high-throughput network routing and fiber backhaul outside of climate-controlled server rooms.

Technically, the device provides a 20 Gbps switching fabric capacity with support for jumbo frames up to 9.6 KB and a 1.75 Mbits buffer memory. It operates on redundant dual DC power inputs ranging from 12V to 48V with an integrated power failure alarm relay and 6 kV port surge protection.

Deployment is optimized for DIN-rail installation inside industrial automation enclosures, remote junction boxes, and smart infrastructure cabinets. Compatibility spans standard copper UTP cabling (CAT5e/6/6a) and MSA-compliant 1G SFP fiber transceivers. However, this switch is strictly built for industrial edge deployments and is not suited for standard office desktop use without proper mounting or standard 19-inch rack installations without dedicated adapters.
