INTELLINET 508971 – Industrial Gigabit Media Converter

Overview

The INTELLINET 508971 is an unmanaged industrial Gigabit Ethernet media converter designed to seamlessly bridge copper RJ45 network cabling to optical fiber connections in harsh operating environments. Equipped with one 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port and one SFP transceiver slot, it enables transparent network expansion between long-distance workgroups, building-to-building links, or IoT/Industry 4.0 infrastructure without requiring additional core routers.

Housed in an IP40-rated slim-type metal enclosure, the converter operates reliably across extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). It features dual redundant DC power inputs with a terminal block connector, standard DIN-rail mounting capability, and heavy-duty shock, freefall, and vibration resistance.

Designed for harsh commercial, outdoor cabinet, and industrial automation environments. It is incompatible with managed network topologies requiring Layer 2/3 traffic control, integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) sourcing, or environments lacking a compatible external 12–56 VDC industrial power supply.
