INTELLINET 509794 40G QSFP to 4?10G SFP Passive DAC Breakout Cable
Overview :
The INTELLINET 509794 is a passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) breakout cable designed to split a single 40 Gigabit QSFP+ port into four independent 10 Gigabit SFP+ connections. It is intended for high-density data centers, enterprise networks, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments that require reliable short-distance, high-bandwidth connectivity.
The cable provides an aggregated bandwidth of 40 Gbps by delivering four 10 Gbps SFP+ channels over passive twinax copper. Its passive design consumes less than 0.1 W per connector end, produces virtually no heat, and eliminates the need for separate optical transceivers, reducing deployment cost and simplifying installation. It also supports QDR InfiniBand, SAS, and Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) applications.
With a length of 7 ft (2 m), the 509794 is suitable for Top-of-Rack (ToR) switching, server-to-switch connectivity, switch stacking, adjacent rack interconnects, and storage networking. Durable zinc die-cast QSFP+ and SFP+ connectors with pull-to-release latches provide secure connections while supporting hot-swappable operation for simplified maintenance.
The 509794 is MSA- and IBTA-compliant and interoperates with Cisco, INTELLINET, ZyXEL, TP-Link, Ubiquiti, Dell Force10, Fortinet, MikroTik, and other MSA-compliant networking platforms. It is intended for short-reach passive DAC applications and should not be used for long-distance fiber links or installations requiring optical transceivers.
