This module is a direct replacement for the Cisco SFP-10G-ZR-S, providing reliable 10Gbps connectivity over single-mode fiber (SMF) infrastructure. It is a critical component for Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), telco backhaul, and high-speed links between geographically dispersed data centers.

Operating at a 1550nm wavelength, this transceiver supports distances of up to 80 kilometers (49.7 miles), making it one of the highest-reach copper-to-fiber or fiber-to-fiber components in the SFP+ form factor. It utilizes a duplex LC connector for a secure and industry-standard connection. The module is fully hot-swappable, allowing for installation or replacement in live Cisco Catalyst or Nexus switches without interrupting network services.
