The StarTech TB3CDK2DH is a high-performance hybrid docking station designed to provide a seamless workstation experience for users with a mix of laptop hardware. It is utilized by creative professionals, developers, and corporate fleets where both Thunderbolt 3 and standard USB-C laptops (such as MacBook Pro, Dell XPS, and HP EliteBook) are deployed across the same workspace.

Technically, this dock features a unique “Hybrid” design that utilizes a dedicated Thunderbolt 3 controller while maintaining backward compatibility with USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) laptops. It supports dual 4K 60Hz monitors via two DisplayPort 1.2 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports (users can choose any combination of two). The dock provides up to 60W of Power Delivery (PD) to charge the host laptop while simultaneously connecting a high-speed 3-port USB hub (including a front-facing fast-charge port), Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5mm headset jack.

Deployment is optimized for “hot-desking” and shared office environments, as it eliminates the connectivity confusion between Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices. The dock includes a 2.3ft (0.7m) Thunderbolt 3 certified host cable and features a compact, horizontal design that fits neatly under a monitor.
