The StarTech USB2001EXTV is a professional-grade USB extender designed to bypass the standard 16-foot (5m) distance limitation of USB 2.0 cables. This system allows a single USB peripheral to be positioned up to 165 feet (50m) away from the host computer using a single standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. It is a critical hardware solution for digital signage, security systems, industrial control, and remote desktop configurations.
The system consists of two compact units: a local transmitter and a remote receiver. The transmitter connects directly to the host computer’s USB port, while the receiver provides a single USB Type-A port for the remote device.
