Overview

The Eaton SMX1500LCDT (Tripp Lite SmartPro series) is a 230 V line‑interactive UPS designed to provide conditioned AC power with battery support for short outages and voltage disturbances in small IT and network environments. It is deployed by IT engineers and facilities teams to maintain uptime long enough for orderly shutdowns and data integrity during brief mains interruptions.

Rated at 1.5 kVA / 900 W, the unit accepts 230 V AC input and delivers nominal 230 V AC output with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) that corrects undervolt and overvolt conditions (approximately 170–280 V) without immediately engaging the battery. The internal battery pack supports roughly 10 minutes runtime at half load for critical gear such as servers, networking devices, or workstations.

Physical connectivity includes a C14 inlet (user‑supplied AC cord) and eight IEC 60320 C13 outlets (six battery/AVR protected, two surge‑only). A front‑panel LCD interface displays real‑time metrics (input/output voltage, load, battery status), and communications via USB and serial support safe unattended shutdown through downloadable management software.

AVR with EMI/RFI noise filtering improves stability and reduces electrical noise stress on connected equipment. A moderate 455 J surge suppression rating protects against transient spikes. The UPS’s tower format fits office racks, network closets, or edge cabinets where 230 V infrastructure is present.
