APC SRT3000XLA 3kVA Online UPS 120V Rack/Tower
Overview
The APC SRT3000XLA is a double-conversion online uninterruptible power supply designed to provide conditioned power and battery backup for critical IT infrastructure. It is commonly deployed by data center engineers, network administrators, and infrastructure teams protecting servers, storage arrays, and network switching equipment from power disturbances and outages. The system ensures continuous operation during utility failures while maintaining stable voltage and frequency for sensitive electronic loads.
This UPS provides 3000VA / 2700W output capacity and operates on a 120V power infrastructure, delivering pure sine wave output through an online double-conversion topology. Incoming AC power is continuously converted and regenerated, isolating connected equipment from sags, surges, and harmonic distortion. The unit includes eight NEMA 5-20R outlets and one NEMA L5-30R outlet, enabling multiple server or networking loads to be powered simultaneously.
The SRT3000XLA is designed as a rack/tower convertible UPS. It can operate in a vertical tower configuration or be installed into standard 19-inch server racks using optional rail kits. This flexibility allows deployment in IDF network closets, branch infrastructure racks, small data centers, and edge compute cabinets where high-quality power conditioning and backup runtime are required.
Integration with infrastructure management systems is supported through USB, serial communication, and a SmartSlot expansion interface for optional network management cards. This allows remote monitoring, automated shutdown of servers, and integration with APC management platforms such as PowerChute or EcoStruxure IT.
In practical deployments, this UPS is often installed beneath a server stack, virtualization host cluster, or network switching rack to maintain system uptime during short-duration outages. Runtime can be extended by connecting external battery modules, supporting environments that require controlled shutdown or longer power autonomy.
This unit is not intended for high-density data center racks exceeding 3kW load requirements or environments requiring 208V/230V distribution. Large server clusters or high-draw blade chassis typically require higher-capacity UPS systems in the 5kVA–10kVA range.
