Overview
The Eaton N785-MDC-1SCSC is a Gigabit fiber optic mode converter designed for SC duplex multimode-to-singlemode conversion in enterprise, campus, and data-center backbone networks. It enables reliable 1GbE optical transport over mixed fiber environments where wavelength and fiber-type conversion is required.
The unit supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet on the copper side and 1GbE fiber transmission using SC duplex interfaces. It is commonly deployed to extend network links up to 10 km (6.2 miles) depending on fiber and optical configuration.
Engineered for structured fiber environments, the N785-MDC-1SCSC provides plug-and-play operation with LED diagnostics for link status, speed, and fault detection. It is built in a rugged metal enclosure for rack-adjacent or shelf deployment in controlled IT environments.
This model is intended for Gigabit SC-based fiber infrastructures and is not compatible with SFP/SFP+ architectures or higher-density optical switching platforms.
