Overview
The Eaton N784-MDC-4STST is a 100 Mbps fiber optic mode converter designed for extending and translating multimode-to-singlemode optical links in enterprise and industrial network environments. It is used in structured fiber deployments where legacy ST connector infrastructure must interoperate with long-distance singlemode fiber links.
This device supports ST duplex optical interfaces on both sides and enables fiber extension up to 40 km depending on optical configuration. It is commonly deployed in campus backbones, industrial networks, and data-center interconnect extensions where copper Ethernet is not viable.
The unit operates as a plug-and-play media converter with LED-based diagnostics for link status, fiber integrity, and operational monitoring. It is built in a rugged metal housing for continuous deployment in controlled IT and telecom environments, with an operating range suitable for standard rack or shelf installation.
