Overview :

The Intel E10G42BTDA is an enterprise-class dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) converged network adapter from the X520 server series. Purpose-built for virtualization infrastructures, cloud data hubs, and consolidated storage networks, this dual-port SFP+ adapter answers high-bandwidth network congestion by offloading data transit paths directly from host hardware. It functions as a foundational pipeline component for system architects consolidating disparate LAN and SAN storage environments.

Powered by the robust Intel 82599ES 10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller silicon, the adapter handles dense parallel processing streams through advanced hardware offloads. It integrates dual Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+) cages supporting Direct Attach Copper (DAC) twinaxial cabling runs up to 10 meters, or optical transceivers for long-distance multi-mode or single-mode fiber infrastructure. The engine features Intel Virtualization Technology for Connectivity (Intel VT-c), deploying Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) and Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) to slash hypervisor system overhead and stabilize throughput.
