Intellinet 507332 – Media Converter

Overview:

The Intellinet 507332 is a Fast Ethernet media converter designed to connect 10/100Base-TX copper Ethernet to 100Base-FX fiber optic networks over single-mode fiber . It is used by network engineers and system integrators to extend network distances up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) for building-to-building connectivity or remote workgroup integration .

This converter solves the challenge of migrating from copper to fiber infrastructure with minimal cost and complexity. It operates transparently to the network, meaning performance remains unchanged while adding support for both media types . Its compact design allows standalone desktop or wall-mount deployment, and it can be installed in a 14-slot media converter chassis (model 507356) for high-density applications .

The converter is fully IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u compliant, features auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X on the RJ45 port, and includes status LEDs for power, link/activity, and full-duplex/collision . It is not suitable for multi-mode fiber applications or distances beyond 20 km.
