Overview
Intellinet 508599 is a Gigabit Fiber WDM Bi-Directional SFP optical transceiver module designed for single-mode fiber network connections in enterprise, data center, and service provider environments. It enables long-distance fiber links using compatible SFP-equipped switches and routers.
The module supports 1000Base-BX-D Ethernet with a 1 Gbps data rate and uses WDM technology to transmit and receive data over a single fiber strand. It operates with RX 1310 nm and TX 1550 nm wavelengths and supports fiber distances up to 40 km (25 miles).
Designed in a compact SFP form factor, the transceiver supports hot-plug installation and Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) for monitoring optical power, temperature, voltage, and operating parameters. The metal housing improves durability and reduces electromagnetic interference.
Suitable for MSA-compliant SFP network equipment requiring 1000Base-BX-D connectivity. It must be paired with a compatible BiDi SFP module such as Intellinet 508582 or equivalent Cisco GLC-BX40-U type transceiver. It is not intended for multimode fiber or non-SFP network interfaces.
