By integrating 48 RJ45 RS-232 software-selectable serial console ports, 10 Gigabit SFP+ fiber uplinks, and an embedded Global 4G LTE-A Pro cellular modem, the OM2248-10G-L delivers secure Smart Out-of-Band (Smart OOB™) management and automated edge remediation on a completely separate, dedicated management plane.

Powered by an x86 quad-core 1.4 GHz processor, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 64 GB M.2 SSD storage, and an embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0), the OM2248-10G-L natively supports modern DevOps and NetOps automation tools. Network engineers can run Python scripts, Ansible playbooks, and Docker containers directly on the appliance to automate routine provisioning and emergency recovery. Managed centrally via Opengear Lighthouse software, the OM2248-10G-L provides robust physical and digital security, ensuring uninterrupted remote reachability even during primary WAN outages.
