Overview :

The IMC1GSFP30W is a hardened industrial media converter designed to integrate fiber optic cabling with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) copper devices in challenging environments. It functions as both a transparent media bridge and a PoE+ injector, providing up to 30W of power to remote devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, or sensors. This unit is specifically engineered for high-reliability applications in locations subject to extreme temperature fluctuations and electrical interference, such as traffic control cabinets or factory floors.

Technically, the converter features an open SFP slot, allowing for maximum infrastructure flexibility. It supports MSA-compliant 100/1000Mbps SFP modules for both single-mode and multi-mode fiber. On the Ethernet side, it provides a 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 port that adheres to IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and 802.3at (PoE+) standards. The device includes Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) to ensure that a link failure on one side of the converter is communicated to the other, preventing “silent” network failures.

The hardware is encased in a rugged IP-30 rated aluminum housing and is rated for operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F). It supports redundant power inputs via a terminal block or a DC barrel connector, ensuring continuous operation even if one power source fails. It is designed for DIN rail or wall mounting and requires a 48V-56V DC power source for PoE operation.
