The unit is commonly used in racks supporting equipment with redundant power supplies or high outlet count requirements.

The PDU operates using two independent 120V input circuits, each rated at 20A (derated for continuous load), providing a combined capacity of up to 4.8 kW. Each circuit feeds 16 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets, delivering a total of 32 outlets in a single vertical chassis. Dual digital current meters provide real-time load monitoring per circuit, enabling technicians to balance loads and avoid overload conditions.

The PDUMV40 is designed for 0U vertical mounting, installing along the side of standard 19-inch racks without consuming rack space. This makes it suitable for high-density deployments in data centers, network closets, and telecom environments where rack U-space must be preserved for compute and switching hardware.

Integration aligns with standard North American 120V power ecosystems using dual NEMA L5-20P inputs, with included adapters for compatibility with 5-20R receptacles. This device is not suitable for environments requiring outlet-level switching or remote management, as it provides only local metering.
